NOTICE OF RACE

  1. ORGANIZING AUTHORITY

  3. VENUE AND DATES OF RACES
  4. The courses will be set in the Sanremo Gulf from 23th to 25th of May, 2008.

  5. RULES
  6. 3.1 The regatta will be governed by:
    . the Rules as defined in the current ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS);
    . the current International Dragon Class Rules;
    . the present Notice of Race;
    . the Sailing Instructions and any following official changes of the Organizing Committee, the Race Committee and the Jury, even modifying the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions, exposed almost two hours before the start of the race.
    In the event of conflict the Sailing Instructions shall prevail.
    3.2 The official language of the Regatta is English.
    3.3 All times are Italian Time.

  7. ELIGIBILITY
  8. 4.1 Only International Dragon Class yachts which hold a valid Measurement Certificate shall compete.
    4.2 Owners shall be current members of their National Dragon Association.
    4.3 All Italian crew members must have a FIV licence valid for 2008.

  9. SCHEDULE

........22nd May Registration at the Secretary of the Yacht Club Sanremo
........23rd May: 9.00/11.00 H. Registration; 12.00 H. first race/races;
........24th May: race/races;
........25th May: race/races; Prize giving ceremony.

A Pasta Party will be offered to the competitors after the races.

6. ENTRIES

Formal entry form of each yacht shall be submitted before the 10th of May, 2008 at the Yacht Club Sanremo, accompanied by the following documents:
. Boat Insurance certificate against third party claims in the sum of at lest € 1.000.000,00;
. Declaration of any advertising showed;
. Copy of the payment of the entry fee.

7. ENTRY FEE

7.1 The entry fee is € 250 per boat. The payment could be made by direct bank transfer or by cheque to the Yacht Club Sanremo.
7.2 The Organization Committee will reserve the right to accept entries after the above closing date (10th may 2008) with a penalty of 50 euros.

8. MEASUREMENTS

Each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate at the time of the registration. Measurement inspections may be carried out on boats and/or equipment before, during and after each race by irrevocable judgement of the Race Committee and/or Jury.
Boats and sails must be measured and in conformity with the Rules of the Dragon Class Association.

9.
SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

The Sailing Instructions will be available after the registration at 12.00 on the 22th May 2008.

10. SCORING SYSTEM

A maximum of nine (9) races are scheduled. The Low Point scoring system of the ISAF RRS 2005/2008 Appendix "A" will be applied.

Discard will we applied like the RRS Appendix "A" F.I.V. rules.
The International Italian Dragon’s Cup is a grade 2 event, valid for the IDA International Ranking List, with RL factor of 1.10 and a multiplier of 1.

11. ADVERTISING

The event is classified as category "A". The Organizing Authority may ask all boats to expose a flag from the Sponsor on the stern and/or an adhesion representing the name of the sponsor on both sides of the boat for the whole duration of the event, in accordance with the ISAF RRS Category A Regulation.
The adhesions and flags will be given by the Organizing Club.

12. PRIZES

Prizes to the first ten placed yachts, prize to the first Italian yacht, prize to the first Classic Dragon.

13. PHOTOGRAPHS AND TV RIGHTS

By participating in the event, the competitors, the crews and their guests grants to the Organizing Authority and their Sponsor the right in perpetuity to make use of and show, at their discretion, any motion pictures or still photographs of competitors or boats taken during the event, as well as to use such contents in any media whatsoever, for either editorial or advertising purposes or to be used in press information.

14. RESPONSIBILITY

The Organizing Club, The Race Committee and the Jury are not responsible for any damage to people or things ashore or afloat related to this event. It is up to competitors to decide whether to start a race and to continue racing (Fundamental rule n.4)
